I have had an 8mm sliding genioplasty just over 2 years ago and its still very tight. Stiff and tight and lower lip feels tight and stiff and the area inside the lip where incision was made feels tight. Surgeon says he can do either a soft tissue release to see if that helps or move the bone back 4mm. It feels like the muscle just doesnt work properly anymore and the lower lip feels heavy and tight. What should I do? 1 soft tissue release 2 move bone back half way.
I had a silicone chin implant inserted in 2015. 4 years later, I am still unhappy with it. I feel it is to big for face and since I have had it, my smile has been ruined. My bottom lip now stays flat when I smile instead of making. U shape like it used to. I refuse to smile much anymore and I have suffered depression because of it. It still feels really tight and looks too big. Is it the physical size that's preventing my bottom from making a U shape or could it be nerve damage?
I had sliding genioplasty 2 years ago, 6mm advancement horizontaly. If I talk more than a few minutes, my chin swells and becomes painful, my smile is very different and strange because the incision sight is tight and the soft tissue cant accomidate the new position. Also, the lip and chin area (right side) are almost completely numb, and I have a very sharp mentolabiol fold. Do I have to live like this? Would reversal put things back to normal?
I had a lot of swelling at first, but things seem to be healing nicely now. I still notice some tightness in my lower jaw and I have a slight headache almost daily. Is this from my chin implant and the jaw strain causing the headache and does it go away over time?
I had a large Chin Implant placed under chin a year ago. I had steroid injections a couple of weeks later as I had burning sensations & pain on right side. The implant looks fine, and fits face great but it just feels so tight. When I make certain movement with my mouth I can feel a pulling and muscle contraction like sensations. It feels uncomfortable like its too big for my skin & sore on the right hand side. Can anyone suggest as to what the problem may be & what can be done to help?
After surgery 1 yr ago, I had a hematoma on each cheek. Gone now. Doc said lines on left cheek are due to scar tissue that he will remove during revision surgery. Chin is very sore & redder than pre-surgery; it feels like a weight. Mouth is puckered. By end of day, it's difficult to enunciate. Have tugging sensation below ears & some tingling continues along jaw line up to ears. Also have Pixie Ears & Tragus is missing. Could facelift have been too tight? My doc says no. Advice is appreciated!
I've had a my chin implant for slightly over a year now and it's had numbness and tightness the entire time. I thought it would eventually get back to normal but it never did. But tonight I was feeling the inside of my mouth and realized I can actually feel the implant from inside my mouth. I can only feel it on the numb side. Does this mean that the implant is too high and is pressing on my mental nerve? Is there any chance that removing it will relieve some of the pressure/tightness/numbness?

Hi there! I'm over a year post op with a Large chin implant with wings. I've noticed that I am always aware of the implant. I can feel tightness around my jaw and it's much more difficult to speak/annunciate. Is this because the chin implant is too big? Or is this the typical feeling of having an implant in your mouth? I'm trying to decide whether I should have my PS shave it down or take it out. Thanks for the help!
I had a chin implant placed 4 weeks ago and still have tightness around the chin area. I had tingling sensations around my teeth during the recovery and fear that it may be causing pressure/pulling on my gums. Can chin implants cause damage to these structures early on? Most of the tingling sensations have subsided in the teeth; however, I am still paranoid with the pulling sensation. Is this something that I should be worried about?
