I plan on getting a reduction next year. I was just wondering what would be the ideal time off to take from work? I work an office job but spend about 80% of the time driving to different locations and standing for long periods of time. We do heavy lifting but only in the summer when we have outreach events. So I plan on getting my reduction in the winter of next year. Also, is there a specific weight restriction? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I thought I had been told by my doctor that I would be off work for 1-2 weeks, but when I called to schedule the surgery the scheduling nurse said it would be 4-6 weeks due to the nature of my work (hospital, including ER). Everything I read seems to point more to 1-2 weeks. Do some occupations require that much time off?
I am having BR surgery this Friday and I have taken 8 weeks off work. I am a cardiac sonographer in a hospital which can be a physically demanding job. I am often standing or must hold a certain position for long periods, and must be able to lift and roll patients during the day. In addition, I sometimes have to move furniture and patient beds. I also have to be able to perform CPR if there is an emergency. Is 8 weeks an appropriate amount of time in my circumstance or too much? Thanks!
Ive been approved via insurance for a breast reduction. The plastic surgeon I met with said at my size (130 pounds/32 F cup/ 53/ 25 years old) a lollipop incision would get the job done. Ive never had kids and my breast tissue is quite dense according to him. I want to know what the recovery will be like for this surgery? Can I be back at work in a week? 2 weeks? Additionally if I have children later whats the possibility for breast feeding?
I recently had my consultation with a surgeon. Now, besides insurance approval, my main concern is when to tell my boss. Im a pretty junior employee (mid-20s) at a startup. Ive been working here ~10 months and havent taken more than a week off. My surgery is planned for 6-7 months from now, so is two months before surgery a good timeframe to give my (male) bosses advance warning? Id like to give enough notice to work out logistics but not to where it could impact my career negatively.
My TT.and lipo have left me with worsening excruciating pain and discomfort. My midriff is so tight and I'm experiencing a tearing sensation to the right of my belly button. I'm due back at work in 2 weeks time and it's just not getting any better. If anything it feels worse than it did 2 weeks ago. Really worried.
I'm saving to pay out of pocket for a breast reduction. I'm also wanting to get abdominal lipo at the same time. It's the holidays so unfortunately I can't get time off from work to get a consult at least not until after the new yr. however, just want a ball park figure.
