I had breast reduction surgery months ago where my vertical incision opened/split. Is it common for a surgeon to use only skin glue to close this incision? There were not exterior sutures, only glue and steri-strips. Thank you.
Im about two weeks in my recovery from a breast reduction, and I noticed that my left incision was leaking a tiny bit (the fluid was thin and yellow-ish and doesnt have any smell). After showering I noticed I had a small opening where my incisions meet, so I assume a scab must have fallen off before it was ready to and thats what caused the leaking. Right now I put a bandaid over the opening with some Neosporin to keep the area clean. Should I be doing anything else?
Since I already have a surgeon--who won't see me in person due to COVID-19 and he closed his office--every other plastic surgeon I called to see if they would allow an in-person visit just says no, follow up with your surgeon. I have a problem t-junction in one breast, and a very painful seroma and possible infection in the other. I am completely stumped as to how to get care at this point, and any ideas would be hugely appreciated. My surgeon isn't even offering telemedicine, god knows why.
I had a breast reduction and uplift in turkey. I was there for a week left Sunday. Everything was ok I suppose but then My Breast was bleeding I went to the hospital they said my breast is gaping and it was infected Ive got antibiotics but they said because Ive done it abroad theres not much they can do I contacted the people in Turkey they said they will bring me back for surgery to fix it. It hurts a lot it still bleeds Im scared can anyone explain why this happened?
I am 4 weeks PO and my surgeon has seen me weekly. As of last week I still had a floating scab on it. Now its open with white flesh looking stuff and I can see the stitch at the top. I emailed him a picture yesterday and he assured me it was fine. Im supposed to use neosporin twice a day on it and just wait for it to close. This seems like itll never close.
My Dr. doesnt seem as concerned as i am with my healing and the issues i am having. Aside from the huge wound opening i noticed darkness on the skin above. What does this mean? Will it ever go away? My Dr. has recommended i keep hydrocolloid bandaids on the wound.
Since my breast reduction I've had a small opening go into a bigger opening within a week. My Dr. Said in the first pic it was normal an to use neosporin and gauze to help heal... but since then(1 week second pic) its gotten worse looking in my opinion. Will i have a huge gap scar?? What does this mean??? Also around my nipple it looks like where my stitches were are the most irritated. Will this heal ugly???
I got a breast reduction done 2 months ago and I thought it was going well until I went for my post op & found out that I had open area. Immediately, I was confused, lost and depressed. I went from being a nurse to being disabled person in minutes and couldn't care for my self. Would it ever heal? Is this medical malpractice? If I go through another surgery what are the chances of positive result? Does this happen because of contamination & not following sterol procedure? Thank you!
Im week 3 post surgery of a breast reduction. I do have a few spots where the incision has separated. I saw the PS yesterday and was instructed to put polysporin on it and keep it covered with gauze. I wanted to ask, would it be safe to put on therapeutic essential oils (frankincense, helichrysm, other healing essential oils) as a blend to help with the healing instead of just preventing infection with polysporin?
