I've heard quite a lot about women only reducing by a few cup sizes. I am a UK 34HH and would love to be really small, an A or B cup. I understand that with normal breast surgery, the size of the pedicle means that it is impossible to reduce the size too much. With a free nipple graft, what prevents you reducing the breast beyond a certain point? Does the footprint of the breast remain the same after surgery? Is it ever possible to reduce the area of chest that is covered by the breast?
Hi - Im 29 years old, measuring 56. One surgeon told me theres a high likelihood of needing an FNG for my breast reduction, the other said he would be able to do it but would still leave me around a D or larger. Is there any chance for me to end up at a C or D without a free nipple graft?
Hello, I am a 23F, height 5'5 and 155 lbs. Currently I wear a 34G bra size. I recently had two consultations with two different surgeons about receiving a breast reduction. Both said they would submit my information to my insurance. Doc 1 said he'd remove ~600 grams while Doc 2 said ~400. My current measurements are: Right SN-N: 34 cm Areola ht: 7.5 cm N-IMF: 11 cm Base: 15 cm Left SN-N: 34.5 cm Areola ht: 8 cm N-IMF: 11 cm Base: 15 cm Will I likely need a FNG?
I had a breast reduction with free nipple graft for medical reasons. I could no longer bear the weight. I am a 31 y/o female who wants children but Im afraid of what will happen to my breast if I get pregnant .I was a 36K-L and 170 lb 55 before surgery. I had trouble breathing and I have neuro issue called Intracranial hypertension so my doctor didnt want me sedated too long. The neuro docs say I can have kids but what will happen to the milk in my Breast?
I am scheduled to have a breast reduction done at the end of May. My doctor told me there are two types of procedures they use, free nipple graft or pedicle method. They need to take a certain number of grams out to get it covered by insurance and my doctor said I would have to do the free nipple graft. The doctor said that I would lose sensation in my nipples with this method. I have read some articles that say there is a chance I would have my sensation back in my nipples.
ever since I had my reduction, which was nearly 16 years ago, periodically, my areolas will get extremely dry and flaky. This has happened more than one time. I have pretty severe eczema, as well, though sometimes the areola dryness occurs absent an eczema flare. But when I'm mid-flare, the areola dryness/flakiness almost always co-occurs. But during this current flare, my areola skin seems to just be breaking down. They ooze serum, and are crusty in general. Any clues what this could be?
Hello docs. I am 22 & had my breast reduction surgery almost a year ago. I wanted to stay locally & wanted my procedure done ASAP, but I think I was too rash. My breasts were definitely very, very large, but I have since come to learn that a FNG was not necessary. I am absolutely devastated, like sobbing as I write this. I just want to know what can be done to get back to as normal breasts as possible. I am curious about resensation surgery to fix my sexual nerves & more projection in my nipples
Im currently a 42J wanting to go to a C cup. Im almost 50, long done with breastfeeding and dont have a sexual interest in nipples. In research on a reduction from my size its clear Id need FNG which seems like its unnecessary extra stitches, risks and healing. Id like to just have the reduction without re-attachment of the nipples. I read that insurance might not cover it that way - but if Im having plenty of tissue removed based on the medical necessity criteria why would it matter?
