I am currently a 36/38 DDD, I'm thinking about getting a Breast Reduction if my insurance approves and if not to save for one. I was told you need a compression bra or high impact sports bra immediately after having surgery. How do you go about choosing what size you need to get. Would you go down one sizer get your normal one? Help?/
I had my breast reduction on the 16th. My doctor told me to wear a normal bra without underwire or pads and seemed really against compression bras when I asked about them, so I've been wearing a bra in the size 34C non-stop since the surgery. I'm not sure if I should buy a compression bra anyway, because in every post I read it was recommended, but it is kind of expensive so if I don't really need one I won't buy it. Thanks for any advice!
I am considering having both procedures at the same time but am concerned with recovery in regards to having to lay on my back for the breast reduction recovery. Will that make swelling worse on my back? Or in any other way impede that recovery? I am already very nervous to have any procedure done and thinking about recovering from two affecting front and back makes me worry. I assume I will have to wear a compression garment for both?
5'5 / 125 lb / 32DD Not only has my chest been causing me constant back/neck/shoulder pain for 5+ years, but due to ribcage abnormalities (pectus excavatum + rib flare) I cant wear any underwires! The only bras I can wear are compression sports bras, whose straps dig into my shoulders and cause me more pain. I've been going to physical therapy + chiropractor for months, and no improvement. I really need smaller breasts (A/B) that don't require underwire support. Am I a good candidate?
My breast were healing fine, only thing is I could feel some stitches coming through if I ran my hand down my incision. This morning I woke up to this! There was nothing there yesterday, just a stitch! I called my PS office, waiting for call back. Should I wear better compression bra? I wear sports bras without wire.
Very trivial question but I accidentally went into the shower with non waterproof tape over my breasts (2weeks post op from breast reduction) and now I have a huge amount of glue left over my incisions which is now sticking to my compression bra! How do I remove the sticky glue from my breasts without scrubbing them?! Ouch. Thank you.
I had my right axillary breast tissue removed on 8/17. I developed a large accumlation of fluid (half a golf ball size) under my armpit afterwards. I'm using a compression garmet along with wrapping it. The fluid was asperated a week after surgery due to pain and now its back again. Will this go away eventually? Is this fluid normal? I'm not sure if I should be concerned.
I had a breast reduction on Wed, my mom said the surgeon removed 300cc from each side. My compression bra was throughly stuffed with gauze (no drain tubes). I removed the gauze Friday evening as I was told. Even after adjusting to make it tighter this bra seems like it might be too big. The office won't be open til Monday to call and it's 2am Sat. My left side hurts unless I use a pillow for pressure. Should I go ahead and seek a sports bra, or just continue to use a pillow over the weekend?
