I had a mastectomy, then 5 years later had breast reconstruction. Im quite overweight and had a good bit of tissue left, so my surgeon didnt do expanders, just kind of popped implants it. I went from being very flat chested to 775 CCs in each breast, over the muscle. Im pretty happy but wondering about the redness and what I can do. I was told I wouldn't really have to wear bras and often don't, maybe I should wear something supportive more often?
Hello! 3 days ago I got reconstructive surgery on my left breast with Strattice placed inside to help with my very thin skin and extreme rippling on the lower part of my breast. Since then the pain has been minimal and I dont have any redness or soreness beyond a normal post surgery feeling. However I have these little bumps that you can see better in harsh light, they arent painful. What are these?
I had a bi-lateral skin sparing mastectomy 8 weeks ago with tissue expanders placed at the time of surgery. I've had this redness/bruising the entire time. It does not get better or worse, only expands wth my breast. I've asked my dr and while he's an excellent dr, he's a man of very few words and just says your still healing. What is this and is it permanent?
I had a double mastectomies in september with expanders at 300 cc each. The drains were removed 3 weaks later, then a day or 2 after I develpoed swelling, heat, pain and redness on the right breast. I have being on antibiotics since. He decided to removed and replace both with the implants. Also, I had capsular contractor of the right expander as well, which was kind of sideways. One week later after exchange and no difference and the right looks deformed. Any advice?
I am BRCA+ and had a prophylactic mastectomy with tissue expanders about 2.5 years ago, silicone gummy bear implants 6 months later. I recently noticed some light pink areas on the breast and mild pain in the area (I have almost no breast sensation, so any kind of pain seems odd). Wondering what might cause it. Also curious if prophylactic mastectomy reduces risk of Inflammatory Breast Cancer, or if that might be a viable concern. I am 31; surgeries done at 28. Thank you!
