It has been 1 1\2 years since my latissimus reconstruction. I am experiencing terrible muscle spasms every day. I have an active job working with dogs that have a tendency to pull on my arm causing spasms that require me to stop what I'm doing. It has now become the norm for the muscle to spasm doing every day activities. When I asked my surgeon about it he just suggested for me to do stretching exercises. This has been getting worse & more painful over time. What can be done to rectify this??
I am a little over 7 weeks post op from a mastectomy and reconstruction. It feels like an elephant is sitting on my chest still a lot. My surgeon gave me Valium for muscle spasms but they seem to ease the tension on my chest. The plast surgeon thinks I should be off all meds by now. Im starting physical therapy to help which I'm not exactly sure why I need it but that I think I'm just healing at a slower rate than she hoped for. I wanted to know when the tension in my chest should clear up?
I had reconstruction one right side with the silicone implant placed in early 2003. For past 6 months I have experienced tightness that feels like muscle spasms. The spasms have been increasing in frequency over past six months and are painful. I am 43 and want to make sure if I need a replacement it is done well. Thanks for any help!
I underwent prophylactic bilateral mastectomies on Aug 20th with immediate tissue expanders placed. Thank God there were no complications. I noticed immediately after my surgery that my right expander is fuller/more muscle spasms and sits higher up in my chest. My left expander is flatter and placed lower and slightly more lateral. I am left handed. There is more muscle overlying the high positioned right one. I have had one fill of 30cc each -asymmetry remains. Is this OK?
