I had a breast augmentation with circumareola lift in 2020. The lift did not last or did not do what I expected. In June 2022 I went back to the same doctor who performed a bilateral mastopexy. I had issues with spitting sutures which I didn't have with the circumareola. I am still not pleased with the results (scars and drooping) but have spent more money than I wanted to begin with and I am not sure what to do now, any advice.
After a BL I started to spit stitches 2 weeks ago. Then the lower part of my R breast became red. My PC said I had retained a stitch. After another day my breast began to fill with blood, and I had to go back to surgery. My PC took out the retained stitches and put a drain in. My question is what is a retained stitch and how can I avoid this happening in future. My PS put more stitches in. Ive worn my surgical bra day and night. Could that have cause the stitch retention?
Im getting a breast lift before the end of the year and Im worried about suture spitting. I had a mole removed on my shoulder some years ago and I ended up with a big angry scar because of spitting. I explained this to my surgeon during the consult and she didnt seem too concerned about it. She said she could give me injections to stop the spitting if it happens. My question is, how common is spitting and how will it affect my breast lift?
I have had several different surgeries over the past 3 years. Donut lift (no implant) and rhinoplasty. Both surgeries have required additional surgery due to spitting stiches and infection. My areolas are a mess of stretched scars. I want to fix them and the doctor recommends a lollipop lift but WHAT SUTURES WILL NOT SPIT? Otherwise I'm just creating more problems.
I had an abcess from a spitting stich in the past and was able to remove the knot myself with tweezers. I attempted to do this on another stitch that I thought was working its way out. Bad idea. I wasn't able to find or remove it. Now I have a hole. I'm afraid I left myself worse off. If I leave it alone, will it heal normally? I alternate letting it breathe and covering it with bandage and antibiotic ointment. I am upset that I have done this. Please advise. My surgeon is across the country
I had a breast uplift 9/5/17 so nearly 3 weeks post op. I noticed when I had my bandages removed 23/5/17 that a I was leaking clear/yellow substance. It's not leaking out but just shows dry on steri strip and bra when taken off. I have also noticed a little pocket at the end of my incision not too sure whether the pocket&drainage is infection or spit stitches. The area isn't red nor have I got a temperature. And also black bits around the nipple, dry blood or infection

Had breast lift surgery about one month ago. Spit stitch around t line. Dr. office cut stitch and now I have about a one inch hole. About one layer into my skin and still bleeds. Told to use calcium alginate on the wound but after one week it does not look my better. Clean with antibacterial soap and place the alginate on top with bandage. Burns when I clean it. A month out of surgery and very worried. Any suggestions?
