I had surgery Tuesday (it's now Sunday) and I am still really uncomfortable. My breasts feel extremely bruised, tight, achy and almost like the skin is going to tear. I also have a liposuction incision on my right hip that gives me the worst burning feeling every time I remove my compression garment or move it in the slightest way. Is this normal?
Is there scientific evidence that compression garments help mould the body into the desired shape after surgery? Or, they're just mainly for swelling etc.? If there is good evidence, what's the usual protocol for wear after surgery?
I am 4.5 weeks breast lift & augmentation. My surgeon told me I could wear sports bras and normal bras without an underwire now but He didn't want me having a lot of pressure on my nipples. So, I went and bought a bra today (they sized me), and it's made out of stretchy material but is compression. I feel better wearing this bra instead of my post surgical bra because my post bra is way too big on me and gives me no support. My nipples are 100% healed. Can I just wear my new bra and not worry?
Following breast lift/fat transfer augmentation required to wear surgical bra and then sports bras for several weeks - to provide 'some' compression to stabilize breast tissue while healing. Wondering if it is possible to have too much compression, not just after surgery (especially with fat transfer) but in general when there has been no surgery/augmentation?
There seems to be alot of info on what to do & wear after an argumentation, but I'm finding very little in regards to after a breast lift. Will I need to wear a binder? Do I need to purchase a front zip sports bra? Should I expect very much swelling?
