I have been having some ticklish and warm sensations inside my breast implant which goes on and off since my augmentation in 2016. Left armpit is a lil swollen but lymph nodes looked fine. My oncologist ordered a breast ultrasound and everything looked clear except a thin layer of capsular contraction. Should I worry?
Last week, I had a wide local excision of a lesion on my shoulder. During this procedure, the surgeon also removed 5 lymph nodes from my armpit. My question; is it possible (likely) for an axillary lymph node extraction to impact the results of a breast augmentation (silicone, under muscle, 5 years post BBA), assuming no complications such as infection occur. This question did not cross my mind prior to surgery and my post-op appt. is in 2 weeks. Thank you in advance for your feedback.
I noticed recently a tender lump under my left armpit/breast area. I am 4 months post op from my surgery (under muscle silicone 350cc) and saw my PS yesterday for follow up. He felt it and believes its a swollen lymph node and that I should follow up with my Gyno. I am going to call first thing in the morning but I am worried. Is this something to be concerned about? Do they normally go down on their own? Would massaging them help?
I thought it was the implant in my armpit but I can feel the edges of my implant when doing my displacement exercises. So I looked it up and its common for lymph nodes right there to swell. Its only my left side as thats the side I had the bigger implant installed. I guess I want to know when does a swollen lymph start to be worrisome if it doesnt go down? No I dont have any pain, redness or fever. Is it only if I get those symptoms that I would call the doctor?
Why are Plastic Surgeons reluctant to test for BIA-ALCL in symptomatic women? Women with spontaneous breast swelling, capsular contracture, swollen lymph nodes - all reasonable symptoms that should trigger a PS to test for BIA-ALCL. Thank you
Should ruptured silicone implants in the lymph nodes be removed as soon as possible? Can the implants be replaced? Some doctors say the silicone isn't harmful, and there's no rush to remove/replace the implants if they're not bothersome. Is this true? What can be done?
Hello, I had a ruptured PIP implant removed (left side). Unfortunately I now have an enlarged lymth node (2.9cm) which is very uncomfortable. I am been advised not to have them removed as I could end up with lymthodema in the arm and be prone to catching infection. I have also been advised that it is safe to remove. Another surgeon also said that the human body would break it up but he didn't say over what period of time. Please could you kindly advise. Thank you
Yesterday I had an ultrasound scan due to finding a lump in my arm pit where my lymph node is. The doctor said my breast implant has ruptured and the silicone has leaked into my armpit which is the lump. He said I need to have my implants out and the lump removed. But another surgeon said to leave it. I'm am so confused. I don't know what to do. I have also been in severe pain and been in hospital having muscle cramps and joint pain.
I had my silicone implants put in, in 1988 under the muscle. I discoved after a mammogram about 2 weeks ago that they are both ruptured and have leaked through the capsule. Supposedly, they have been leaking for a few years. Can the silicone be completely removed from my lymph node and my chest wall? If not, what happens to the silicone that is left behind?
