I had cohesive gel implants under the muscle in 2016. The right one became infected. The surgeon removed it and replaced it with another which also became infected. It was then removed for eight months to give me time to heal. Once it was put back in it fell below the scar line. They then put them over the muscles on both sides. This again fell on the right and had to be corrected. Now its 2022 and I just Found out that my left implant has a rupture. What should I do I am scared To do this again
My implants were removed after having 15 infections and 2 "explore" surgeries over a 5 year period. My breasts are still tender and I am now running a low grade fever for 2 days. I had a drain for 3 days on the infected breast. Is it possible that I am infected again?

I had drains fitted & a small hole been leaking yellow fluid very small amount since the op.they said it didnt show signs of infection. The right breast is slightly swollen & warmer I had antibiotics post op for 5 days. Its hard to breath deeply I have no bruising & the scar isnt particularly red.

I have a very lengthy history of staph infections and was very specific about my ongoing concerns with the wound on my left breast. Each time I was told, Dr .... is a wound expert and has a wound clinic in San Diego so you have nothing to worry about. Multiple calls, photos, appointments and I was brushed off. Finally i was seen by my dermatologist for a different issue when she noticed leakage through my bra. Needless to say i have an infection. I dont trust this PS. What now?
Dear Doctors, can somebody identify this reaction inside my boob? The surgeon claimed that it was no infection - so he simply did not take a swab with a culture (is that even standard practice, when you see an obvious reaction/infection, that had led to an explant, that you dont take a swab for the laboratory?). Before the explantation I had blisters on my suture, right breast had stabbing pain. Pain extended to sternum and left side by now, although implant is out on the right side only
Trying to make sense, 49 y/o. Lift w/implants on Sept 9. Looked great. Seemed to be healing normally. On Oct 13, infection on right nipple (picture incl) which was treated with 10 days of Bactrin DS and ointment. Healed fine after 2 weeks. Surgeon suspected suture colonization. At 6 mths post op, pain on gala flex on outer end of breast, followed by painful lump there, red spreading across bottom of breast, fever and chills, swollen breast. Implant removed. Related infections?
The surgeon took out the right implant, washed it and re-inserted it to try and save it even though I had an infection so my right breast had 3 x surgeries inc the mastectomy and explant. The right breast is still painful 4 months on, but I dont know if thats because an infection is still there. Ive had two courses of antibiotics, plus, Ive switched surgeons for another reconstruction later this year which will be around 11-12 months post explant.
I had silicon gel implants 250cc put in unfortunately due to an infection I had to get rid of them so after only 1 month of having them in I had an explant, but I had relised that I have lost sensation in my right nipple and I when Im touching my right breast I barely can feel them its like a nerve has been cut off and I literally cant feel my right breast. I want to know if thats normal and will I be getting the sensation back later or not? Thank-you.
