52 year old, 125 pounds, 54. Received SSF 415cc Natrelle Inspira SoftTouch breast implants 7 months ago. Still pretty high with barely any lower pole fullness and nipples still pretty downward. Says I should start heavily/aggressively massaging by using both hands and grabbing the side of the implants hard (he said, you cant ever be too hard), and then pushing the implant down and inward. He also told me to start taking 1000 IUs of vitamin E 2x daily? Would this be normal?
I thought taking the vitamin E was good to help your skin bounce back from trauma of surgery etc. Why should I stop taking it before surgery? What happens, how does the vital E cause problems? And how long before my procedure should I stop?
Although some people recommend Vitamin E to possibly prevent capsular contracture, I have read that Vitamin E is a blood thinner. At what point after surgery is it safe to take Vitamin E (for CC concerns) if you may be susceptible to post-op bleeding? I am currently 10 days post-op. I bled more than usual during my BA, so came home with a drain in one breast.
I see PS's advise to take Vit E - can you take to help prevent CC or is it best to wait and only take if symptoms occur? I don't think that I have it but if I can do anything to help prevent it I'd like to as massaging is not part of my recovery plan.
I'm having surgery in 12 days (BA and Otoplasty- 3 hrs of surgery). I was told to avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, & other blood thinning meds at least 14 days before surgery. I'm trying to get over my cold also, so have been also taking Emergen-C & turmeric 2x/day. I just read online that tumeric should be avoided at least 14 days prior to surgery as well. I just took it last night, and surgery is in 12 days. Do I need to reschedule my surgery, or am I close enough that I'll be okay?
I took my bandages off last night in the shower and my incisions are begging for more Easter and I just want to put triple anabiotic point meant on them but I was told not to. However, on my next follow up I believe there is some ointment they sell for scar treatment. Does it really help or can I just put ointment and vitamin E on my incisions?
Hello! I had my breast augmentation 5 weeks ago. Since then, my breasts have become very soft. I've been doing my daily instructed displacements as well as taking vitamin e as prescribed by my surgeon. Even though my breasts have become much softer, it seems as if they have not dropped at all. I'm a little worried as most women online seem to have noticed improvements by now. Will my breasts drop? If so, how long could it take? Thanks :) The photo is of me a few days post op and me at 5 weeks post op.
I know vitamin E supplements are a no-no before surgery, but what about foods that are high in it? I have almond milk every morning and it's less vitamin e than is in a supplement but more than is in a multi vitamin. Should this be avoided? I'm having surgery in under two weeks for breast augmentation.
I'm using Dermatix silicone gel on my new scars. E vitamin Oil as well. Regarding the Dermatix - should i put som kind of tape over? Or maybe steristrips!? I have a lot of those left. Or will the silicone gel itself take some tension of the scar? Would it be better to use silicone sheets? I am 35 days post.
