I know you should not have heat on your face for 6 hours after Botox to decrease likelihood of migration. I know that many doctors do IPL 1st followed by Botox same day. My concern is that a common side effect of IPL is inflammation & redness, and these side effects generate heat in your face. I know heat/facial flushing immediately after Botox can cause migration. If IPL is done prior to Botox, will heat generated in face from IPL-related inflammation (side effect) cause Botox migration?
I have a mild persistent erythema and facial flushing (rosacea). I tried botox with a dermatologist who used botox on facial flushing for the first time (one session, 27 units in both cheeks, no microdoplets). Results: no improvement. I also read that dilution and dosing may have an effect on the outcome. Some sucess case reports talk about very dilute concentration, superficially injections... wich was not the case at my first try. Could another approach make a difference?
Does anyone inject Botox in the cheeks for burning pain/flushing due o a rare disease? I live near Washington DC and Im liking to travel anywhere to have this performed and understand risks. Botox helps pain in nose, chin, and forehead.
I have had Botox multiple times for crows feet, and between the brows. This last time, I noticed mild side effects within 10 minutes such as: dry mouth, flushing/warm skin, and tiredness. I had an overall uneasy feeling which led to a panic attack. I only had 15 units for crow's feet. I did not experience hives. I did not end up in the hospital for any other complication. My question is - could this be the start of an allergy? Is there danger of these effects worsening each time I have Botox?
I realize the wrinkles come back and my question is what happens to the botox chemical as it circulates out in your body ?Does it go thru the liver or get stored somewhere else? Is it simply water soluable and gets flushed out by normal body functions. I am wondering about long term effects does it cause arthritis ? effect your immune system? Do we even know? Thank you Groovinda
I got my first treatment of Botox about a month ago in my forehead. I had great results and am super pleased. When my face gets flushed or red from exercise/heat/being outside in the south I get white spots in the exact places the Botox was injected on my forehead. Is this normal?
