How far would you go for longer lashes?

For some reason, eyelashes have been incredibly back in vogue lately. Not just your ho-hum mascara that's the staple of every makeup bag, but lash treatments and lash extensions. Personally, I'm over the lash thing except for a night out. But with the latest developments--and controversial ingredients--from companies like Allergan, Athena Bioscience, Athena Cosmetics and Jan Marini, gone are the days when lash curlers and a hint of mascara would've been enough.

Here, the latest lash lovelies that claim to lengthen, grow, condition, thicken, volumize, plump (where's my Roget's Thesaurus?) your lashes. This recent addition from L'Oreal isn't available in the US, but I spotted it in the UK--it's worth a mention because of its "tube" technology--which you can get an idea of on the video clip. The voiceover isn't in English, but L'Oreal does a good job with the graphics--so you can see the touted technology in action.

And if you're feeling a bit overwhelmed by the whole thing, lash extensions aren't just some thing for retrophiles. Novalash Lashes, applied by a certified cosmetologist, promise to get you the look for up to two months or more.
