Rebel Wilson Visits Plastic Surgeon, Shares 2 Procedures She’s Trying After Weight Loss

Rebel Wilson shared her visit to L.A. celebrity plastic surgeon Rosenberg Plastic Surgery where she tried two procedures, Emsculpt and Venus Legacy.

It’s no big secret that Hollywood celebs regularly visit dermatologists and plastic surgeons. Still, it’s always refreshing when they’re completely open about it, à la Rebel Wilson. The 39-year-old Pitch Perfect star recently hit up Rosenberg Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills for two nonsurgical treatments, and she took to Instagram to tell her followers all about it.

First up is the Venus Legacy, a skin-tightening facial treatment that heats up skin using multipolar radiofrequency and pulsed magnetic fields to stimulate collagen production. It’s FDA-approved for facial wrinkles. “One treatment will leave your skin looking plumper and tighter for a few days up to a week, but the best results are seen after a course of six treatments,” says Los Angeles celebrity esthetician Joshua Ross of SkinLab, who often performs the treatment.  Still, it’s a great option before a big event, since there is an instantaneous Cinderella effect and no downtime, he adds. In her Instagram clip, Wilson says:, ‘It is like a hot-stone massage—but relaxing.’

Wilson then tightened her booty with the contouring Emsculpt treatment. The device uses magnetic technology to stimulate and cause muscle development, toning and firming the abs and butt, explains Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank, celebrity cosmetic dermatologist and founder of New York City’s PFRANKMD & Skin Salon. It induces 20,000 deep muscle contractions, he adds, something that would be very challenging to do voluntarily. (Do 20,000 squats? No thanks.) This intense muscle stimulation results in fat burning, muscle building, and a more toned appearance. Four treatments—done over the course of two weeks—are recommended for best results, but you can begin to feel tangible results right after the initial treatment, Frank says. And while Wilson also recently revealed that she’d lost almost 15 pounds after a stay at a wellness retreat, Frank notes that Emsculpt isn’t a weight-loss treatment: “It’s more of the icing on the cake for relatively fit patients who want some extra lift or muscle definition that they can’t accomplish on their own.”
