ThermiTight, Kybella, and CoolSculpting – Which is Right for You?

by

If you’re unsatisfied with your appearance, particularly in your neck, face, and jawline, or if you feel embarrassed and self-conscious over your double chin, you are not alone! Many men and women seek solutions to help them get rid of their troublesome fat or tighten their skin in various areas. If you have weak definition around your neck or jawline, have an embarrassing double chin, or want to eliminate some unwanted fat, we have a several great solutions for you, including ThermiTight and Kybella.

If you aren’t sure which solution is right for your situation, read on below to see how ThermiTight, Kybella, and even CoolSculpting differ among one another:

ThermiTight – For tighter, more youthful-looking skin, ThermiTight is a great option for you. This minimally-invasive treatment uses a small heated subdermal probe to get the job done and restore skin elasticity while destroying small pockets of fat. You will notice improvements to the contours of your neck and jawline over the coming weeks and months.

We apply a local anesthetic to the treatment site, insert a specialized radio-frequency probe through a tiny incision into the deeper layers of your skin, and rock the heated probe back and forth in order to produce collagen, which promotes youthful elasticity. Your results will become more and more apparent over the next 4-6 months following the treatment.

Kybella – This is the first and only FDA-approved injectable drug that contours and greatly improves your submental fullness (double chin). It’s a simple, safe, and effective procedure that uses deoxycholic acid, a molecule that naturally occurs inside your body and helps break down and absorb dietary fat, destroying fat cells. Once these fat cells have been destroyed, they can’t store or accumulate fat.

Kybella only takes about 15 to 20 minutes per session and can be customized to your specific needs. Downtime is minimal – the same as ThermiTight – and patients have seen visible results within 2 to 4 treatment sessions spaced 2 to 3 months apart. Once the fat is destroyed, retreatment is not necessary, and like many of our patients, you will be feeling happier, less embarrassed, and more confident about your chin!

CoolSculpting – CoolSculpting for submental fat is being heavily promoted by its manufacturer, Zeltig. The CoolSculpting procedure involves a vacuum of the submental fat and then freezing of the fat to cause cellular death. Typicaly, 20-25% of the submental fat cells are destroyed with the cryolipolysis process.  As with ThermiTight and Kybella, there may be some swelling and discomfort in the days following the procedure. Coolsculpting does not generate new collagen growth or skin tightening.
