My son just announced his engagement . How far in advance should I plan any facial rejuvenating procedures so I can look my best

Get your consult appointment today! The further out you plan the better. Here are timing limits we suggest you consider:

For facial surgeries, plan as far out as you can because recovery time is important. Also keep in mind those few weeks before the wedding when preparation for last minute details are often vital! Allow appropriate downtime for swelling and bruising as well. Our patients tend to have very little bruising with facelifts, but most often they settle low on the side cheek and neck. Patients can look really good as soon as 2 weeks, but we always encourage giving yourself 4 - 6 weeks before the event.

For upper eyelids bruises can be visible on upper cheeks, but they usually look presentable within 3 weeks. Lower eyelid surgery may take a bit longer to heal so we recommend allowing at least 4 weeks prior to an event. Ideally we would love to do your surgery about 3-6 months before the wedding so you have plenty of low-pressure time to heal. Not only that, but you will enjoy the benefits of looking and feeling fabulous in shower and pre-event photos.

Most of our patients do their planning far enough in advance when considering surgeries, however it is the last minute request for injectables that I see most often. For those patients who are already getting injectables, recognize when you like your 'look' the best and plan appropriately. Otherwise, if you are new to injectables give yourself at least 1 month prior to the wedding to allow for the injections and any tweaking and bruising or swelling to settle. Either way we want you to look the best at your big event and most importantly, FEEL your best at this special time!
