Remove Wrinkles from your Summer Plans

by

With our fast-paced lives, some of our patients prefer to remove wrinkles with a non-invasive treatment as opposed to surgery. Summer’s coming, and we all want to look our best. Consider Botox, and you won’t have to plan for any downtime. You’ll look refreshed and ready for all the fun that summer brings.

What is Botox? – Botox is the purified form of botulinum toxin which is FDA approved for wrinkles between the eyebrows. It is also used to treat wrinkles and lines in other areas such as crow’s feet, across the forehead, around the mouth, and on the neck. Botox blocks the release of a substance called acetylcholine, which is how this muscle movement is inhibited. Botox is the most common cosmetic procedure in the U.S. Dysport is another brand name of botulinum toxin.

What does Botox do? – Botox causes wrinkles to relax and soften. Wrinkles occur when we use our muscles to form facial expressions. Fine lines are also caused by factors such as sun damage, poor nutrition, genetics, and smoking. Botox and Dysport are used to soften the face and take years off of your appearance.

How can Botox lift? – Botox can provide a subtle lift on the brows. By relaxing the muscles that pull down the brows, we’re able to create a gentle lift to the brows. This will also give the eyes a more open look and a refreshed appearance.

What is the downtime after a treatment? – This is a treatment with minimal to no downtime. Some patients experience slight bruising which typically resolves itself within a week. Typically within 3 to 7 days your Botox or Dysport will begin working, and may last up to 4 months before an additional treatment is necessary.
