I flew to Vancouver from Wisconsin after numerous frustrating visits with local doctors and I'm so glad I did. Not only does Dr. Donovan have excellent bedside manner, but he is also incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and spent more time with me than any doctor I have ever seen. He even spent an hour on the phone with me going over my biopsy results and next steps after I returned home. If you are not from the Vancouver area, but have the financial means to get to him, make an appointment. You won't regret it.

I strongly recommend a visit to Dr. Donovan if hair loss or thinning is bothering you. Go as soon as you can to try to halt or slow the problem before it gets worse. My regular GP was very dismissive of my fears and sadness over hair loss: “just wear a wig,” he said. I was lucky enough to find Dr. Donovan through my own internet searches and got competent, compassionate care instead of “just wear a wig” (nothing wrong with wigs, but as a woman in my 40s, the thought terrified me, and shouldn’t a doctor offer more help than that?!) Dr. Donovan knows a lot about hair loss, and through a variety of treatments, my hair loss has stopped or certainly slowed down a lot. In addition he is kind; answers questions patiently; is totally up-to-date on the latest research and advancements in hair loss; and realizes the significance of hair loss for patients.

Vitamin D deficiency and hair loss. Review/statement. Humans can regenerate... Cars can't. My hair has started to grow back, I have not taken vitamin D supplements but have been exposed to a greater amount of sun light in the last month which i believe has been of great benefit. I can feel new shorter hair growing on my scalp. Which was a surprise as this was not a planned exposure.
