Plastic Surgery Prices
The economic recession that has plagued the country and the world for over a year has had a significant impact on plastic surgery and how it is practiced in the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale area. In response to the current situation we have decided to lower our prices to make surgery more affordable to our patients while maintaining the safest environment to perform the best work possible. We are committed to not cut any corners on providing the safest environment and quality of care.
Unfortunately this time has spawned a tremendous number of persons and groups that are not committed to safe patient care but rather to offering cheap surgery in hopes of attracting unsuspecting people by offering low prices and even lower care.
It is now more important than ever to know exactly what you are getting and why you may hear on the radio about the $3500 breast augmentation and why. The first cost cutting move is to use a plastic surgeon that is not certified by the American board of Plastic Surgery. The next maneuver is to use a nurse instead of a board certified doctor anesthesiologist and the anesthesia itself is an issue.
Implants placed above the muscle do not require general anesthesia and some centers have been known to do this in spite of telling their patients that the implants will be placed under the muscle. Your surgeon’s reputation is very important! You could be left with a poor result with severe rippling and a much higher cost to fix the problem. It is important to know that the operating room being used is certified and accredited and that when you are in recovery there is a registered nurse caring for you. As always it is a good idea to do a background check on your surgeon to be sure of their malpractice history and any discipline by the state and if they carry malpractice insurance as this is another dangerous cost cutting technique.
We understand that now more than ever the importance of choosing the right plastic surgeon. We want to help and are committed to giving our patients not only the best, safest care available but also care that is sensitive to economic concerns. We also want your feedback and I, personally, want to know what we can do to better serve you.
Often time’s sacrifices must be made to get these prices and as the consumer you have to learn what these sacrifices are.
