Leave the Turkey Neck on the Table This Year: Why Use Kybella

We talk about the trimmings we’re going to need all around the table during the Thanksgiving holiday, but what about the trimmings we can make around our neck and chin? Trimming the fat and shrinking the excess skin left behind in this region is the best gift you can give yourself. The best part of this treatment we’re hoping to share with you at is that there’s no recovery time because it’s nonsurgical and amazing! We’re talking about Kybella injections for the area under your chin that tends to become loose and tends to sag creating the historical turkey neck and double chin issue. Kybella is great because it can get rid of your fat!

Thanksgiving is Around the Corner

Again, the only thing you want with a swinging neck and a gobble-gobble sound effect is the turkey—not you. During these holiday celebrations, everyone wants to come together and take photos and videos that document these special moments we have with our families. While we all love to cherish these occasions and the love that surrounds them, no one wants to worry about what they’ll look like in these long-lasting photos. Most people may be weary of surgical procedures like the neck lift and facelift if they aren’t crazy about going under the knife and long recovery times. Kybella allows our patients to get comparable results to a neck lift or liposuction in the chin with only a few injections into the tissues that can reduce the amount of excess fatty deposits and can tighten up the skin in this area.

How does Kybella work?

Only a trained physician or nurse should perform these injections using Kybella, and at Dr. Lensink’s office, every one of our nurses is certified in Kybella treatments. The formula of Kybella is made from deoxycholic acid which naturally breaks down the cells surrounding this submental fat. Dr. Lensink always looks to bring his patients the most natural treatments that will gradually reduce fat in the healthiest and safest ways so that you never look too overdone after treatments.

The Kybella Treatment

Kybella requires that a set of injections are made into this submental, under the chin, area. Just before you receive these injections in the chin, we will apply an anesthetic cream to the skin to reduce discomfort from the injections if you’re someone that’s not fond of needles. Once the cream has set, the doctor will begin with a series of injections in the chin and neck that should take no more than 20 minutes.

During your consultation the doctor may explain how the treatment works and what you can expect based on the current condition of the fat under your chin and how much you wish to reduce. These Kybella injections require a series of six or more treatments about four weeks apart to see changes. We often recommend Kybella to some of our patients that have had previous neck lifts but would like a touch up to contour the chin and neck.
