Choosing Your Breast Procedure

With plenty of options in breast enhancement today, it can be difficult to know which procedure will meet your specific needs and desired results best.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is a procedure to provide additional fullness and volume to breasts that are disproportionately small. This surgery uses implants crafted of a silicone shell and filled with either a saline or silicone gel. Dr. Patel has perfected his techniques in breast augmentation to provide patients with the most natural results and the shortest possible recovery time.

When you opt for breast augmentation, you will need to make a number of decisions prior to your procedure. These include the type of implant you want to use, the size, shape and profile of the implant, the placement of the implant and the type of incision used for the procedure. Dr. Patel will work with you to help you make the decisions that will provide you with the best possible outcome for you.

Breast Lift

A breast lift primarily focuses on lifting drooping breasts to a perkier, more youthful position on the chest. This procedure removes excess skin and tissue, while restoring breasts to a higher position and repositioning nipples for a natural appearance. A breast lift may also offer a slight increase in the perception of the breast’s size, but will not actually increase cup size the way augmentation can.

Breast lifts are often recommended after childbirth and nursing have taken their toll. The breasts may also droop due to significant weight loss or even just the natural aging process. A breast lift can be an effective method of breast enhancement when performed alone for some patients. It is also used in combination with breast augmentation or breast reduction in many cases, producing even more dramatic results for the patient.

Breast Reduction

Patients with disproportionately large breasts may suffer from more than cosmetic embarrassment. Large, pendulous breasts can also put undue strain on neck and back muscles, leading to pain and stiffness. Some women may also experience skin irritation and rashes, due to skin underneath the breast rubbing together. Breast reduction can provide balance and proportion to a woman’s body contour while eliminating some of these uncomfortable side effects of very large breasts.

Breast reduction removes excess tissue and skin from the breast area to create a more proportionate look to the woman’s figure. In addition, the areola and nipple area may be reduced to provide the most natural, beautiful results possible. Liposuction is sometimes used with breast reduction to remove isolated areas of fat that have not responded to diet and exercise efforts. Dr. Patel utilizes the latest technique that limits the amount of scarring on your breast and improves the shape, perkiness, and longevity of your results.

About Breast Enhancement

All of our breast enhancement procedures are performed on an outpatient basis, often using local anesthesia with sedation. Our patients are usually pleasantly surprised to see how little discomfort they experience after surgery, as well as how quickly they can return to their regular activities. In many cases, the positive results seen after breast enhancement surgery are permanent.
