Am I a candidate for an Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck?)

by

The ideal candidate for an abdominoplasty is a person who is within 10-15 pounds of their ideal weight, has a BMI of 28 or below, has excess skin, stretchmarks and/or muscle laxity following weight loss or pregnancy.

The abdominoplasty procedure removes excess skin, can remove all or some of the stretchmarks on the lower abdomen and repairs the muscles that can stretch with pregnancy.

Women often find the abdomen protrudes out regardless of how many sit-ups they do or how thin they are. This is usually related to muscle laxity. During the procedure the muscles are tightened, creating an “internal corset” effect. We use permanent internal sutures to ensure a lasting result as long as weight is maintained post-surgery with proper diet and exercise.
