Im having an arm and thigh lift after major weight loss in September. My surgeon gave me an option to take the prevena wound vac for a price. Is it truly necessary to heal my wounds? Im a 33 year old female. I just had a mommy makeover in May if this information helps.
Can I use steristrip wound closure to help the wound close? Im afraid it will heal as is and the scar will be that much wider... it keeps seperating. Is there anything I can do t this point to close it up and prevent it from healing that way.
I had arm lift on May 2nd 2019. Had right armpit open up 2 weeks post op and then my other armpit opened up 3 weeks post op. I have attached photos. PS had me treat the first wound, by packing with collagenase 2x a day for about a week and then packing it with a wet gauze (Tap water). He has me treating the left arm with collagenase still. I am very concerned and of course depressed that these wounds are so large and havent progressed much. Is there anything else that I can do?? Is this malpractice?
Separate from larger wound separation, I had a tiny red/wet spot on the seam where my armpits were sewn together. This separation seemed to be healing but now there is a piece of flesh poking out - it seems like this flesh belongs inside. It's very bizarre. Any ideas as to whats going on? Thanks!
My wound specialist wants me to purchase one. My surgeon did not prescribe a compression garment. I have been referred to a wound specialist that wants me to wear one for non-healing axilla wounds at 4.5 weeks. What brand do you prefer? Can I purchase online? Do you think the swelling from not initially wearing a garment could have caused wound separation? Thanks for your help!
I am 4 weeks post-op from an arm lift, I have a large separation of the wound that is bloody with pus like discharge that burn very bad. I have been doing wound care at home with wound flush spray, silver nitrate and calcium alginate strips, however the tape is tearing my skin down and the wound has winden. Losing hope for healing please help.
About 2 weeks post op, the incisions in my arm started to open at my arm pit. My PS said don't worry it will heal by itself. Just wash it with soap and water, apply hydrogen peroxide, and apply alcohol, then dress it with a gauze and wear my compression sleeves. I do that daily. However, I feel like the wound is getting worse. It wasn't bleeding before, but now, at 4 weeks post op, it leaks blood when I remove the dressings to clean it up. Should I be worried? How long will it take to heal?
Hi I have a big hold in my arm pit and wanted to know if it's healing properly! My dr told me just soap and water and keep it dry and clean. It started with a lot of thick discharge and turned into just liquid to now discharge is slowing down!! The hole look to be getting bigger However there's this white looking layer that is growing and spreading. Is this signs that it's healing properly? Can someone explain what this is? I need help this is becoming depressing!
