For the past few days the brachioplasty scar on my left arm is feeling very tight, especially when I'm sleeping, is this normal? A little background - I had brachioplasty in December followed two weeks later by emergency surgery to reopen my left arm to treat acute compartment syndrome which caused nerve damage (brachioplexus injury) - that's healing but the crushing pain has recently returned as well. Scars are hypertrophic scars and I've had steroid injections, last one was two months ago.
I posted earlier about my arm lift which I had 1 week ago and my right arm is still completely paralysed. My surgeon says I have a pinched nerve and will recover 100%. Can anybody please give me a likely time-frame? I have gone from not being able to move my fingers to now being able to make a fist (albeit a weak one). I can barely lift my hand up. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
I had a brachioplasty 11/17 and had had pain in my right arm ever since.I was diagnosed with ulnar nerve damage a few days ago. I saw the plastic surgeon for revision of my thigh and pain problems with my arm a few weeks ago. He smiled and told me that my results were excellent and sent me on my way. Two other plastic surgeons have since told me they can't revise the scar is to close to my ulnar nerve. I think the surgeon should pay for my ulnar repair thigh revision. Is this reasonable?
I'm 15 days post-op from a brachioplasty. I'm experiencing deep numbness in the lower part of my left forearm; from the elbow to a few inches short of the wrist. My incisions go from my armpit to my elbow. No incisions on the forearm. I had the procedure to excise skin after massive weight loss. I'm concerned that the numbness will not go away. Am I worrying too soon? Is there anything I can do? Are there Neurologists who can treat sensory nerve damage?
