I've been on Accutane for 3 months and my acne completely cleared in the first few weeks and hasn't come back at all. I am struggling with some of the side effects and was wondering if its possible for it to have cleared more quickly and that I could possibly stop taking it early since its worked so well? Are the chances it comes back high? I had minor to moderate cystic acne to begin with.
Age 30, have mild but constant acne which causes scarring. I want to talk to my doctor about doing a 10mg accutane regime for around 6 months. Is this a reasonable plan to discuss with my doctor. Im basing this off New Zealand studies linked below. My other main concern is extreme oily skin and body acne. I do not want to go on a high dose because of side effects and this would be the only way I would take Accutane. https://bpac.org.nz/BPJ/2013/November/docs/BPJ56-acne.pdf
I am a 28 year old woman, and I have had mild acne since I was 14. It tends to focus around my cheeks and jawline, but it is not uncommon to get it on my chest and back from time to time. Am I a good candidate for Accutane? Ive had mixed answers from derms in the past where one has said I would be a good candidate and another has said it only impacts cystic acne whereas mine is hormonal (which I believe cystic is also hormonal?) and smaller?
My derm wants to put me on Accutane. I dont have bad acne, just occasional hormonal breakouts. Unfortunately they havent responded to anything including antibiotics and topicals so as a last resort he wants to prescribe me Accutane. Im worried since my acne isnt bad, not nearly cystic just stubborn few pimples Ive had on my face for a few months, will accutane make my zits worse since I dont have terrible acne which accutane is typically prescribed for?
Hi I have rosacea, oily skin and mild acne. I've had it under control the past year using a salicylic acid lotion and finacea. I struggled previously with these and was on antibiotics for a year. Now I have tiny little bumps forming all over my forehead. They're incredibly itchy. Along with a itchy scalp. I think it's Pityrosporum Folliculitis. What are the treatment options ? I know this disease has a high relapse rate so I'm worried. Has anyone had success treating this without relapse ?
Ive been on accutane for 2 months now (40mg a day) and I started to get itchy rashes on my lower legs, it has now spread to my wrists and upper legs aswell. What do I use to treat them? And also, is my 40mg dosage too low? I'm a 17 year old female with mild facial and back acne and I weigh about 65kg's
Although it's been 2 complete months so far,I feel like my case is stable and the changes I see are minor. However my derm says there's no way the pill isn't working since I am experiencing side effects. So my question is whether it should concern me that after 2 months(out of 5 supposedly) on it, I still don't see my skin clearing up and im still getting pimples. Does this mean my course will be extended?if so what's the longest it can go for someone of my weight?
I am 23 years old 170lbs muscular & have been dealing with not even mild acne just maybe one or two persistsnt bumps that always appears on my cheeks but they blemish badly Along with oily skin / black heads. I am now on month 5 of accutane (absorica) 80mgs and have seen excellent results but I am really worried...my Dermatologist wants me on 7-8months but I feel I should be done on my 5th? She said I was 7000+ mgs so far but I know I'm not? I really want to stop on month 5 Total = 12,000mgs
