Im at 26yo male that has suffered from acne on and off for 10 years or so. I have used many different topical treatments (differin, duac, dalacin T) and different oral antibiotics (lymecycline, tetracycline, doxycycline). They have worked but only very short term. My acne has had a major breakout and its at its worst its ever been. I break out mostly on my forehead and around my cheekbone on the right side of my face (see pictures). I am seeing a dermatologist in 2 weeks time.
One course of accutane has been completed but my acne coming back. I was on Accutane for 9 months, results were perfect but 3 months later I started getting tiny bumps on my forehead so I was prescribed Differin. My skin is still progressively getting worse where I have spots all over my face and neck and I've been patient and waited 3 months to see if the cream will work. I feel heartbroken as I thought it was the end of my 14 year acne journey. Do you think I can get re-referred to a dermatologist?
I'm currently on my 8th week of roaccutane. The first 4 weeks were 30mg and seen my skin get worse. After week 4 I started on 70mg and now have seen my skin get much much worse. My acne was loacalised to my chin and chest but now I have it on my cheeks, neck, chin, forehead and jaw. Why is this happening and when should I get concerned. My lips are so dry they constantly crack and extremely painful. I can't eat in public as my skin around my mouth cracks and flakes with the movement of eating.
I am 19 and I have been suffering from acne since I hit puberty. I went on Accutane for 6 months 40mg a day because I am small. My skin was clear for about 4 months, and recently i have started to get small comedones acne all over my forhead and nose. I wonder if its related to my menstrual cycle or if its just a sign that i will need a second round of treatment.
hello! i am a 14 yr old female, and i have had acne since i was about 12. my acne is moderate... i have had some flare ups which have resulted in my skin being covered with scars everywhere: my cheeks, chin, forehead, mouth area. in addition, my skin is very very oily, and my pores are bigger than normal. i have tried 2 acne medications and about 8 topical creams.
I have been on Accutane for 6 months now to treat my severe acne. In the past few days some wrinkles are rapidly appearing in my forehead (which I never had), and some lines are quite deep from one day to the other. It seems like my skin is losing its elasticity /collagen. I am wondering if anyone would have any hint what might be causing that and how I could potentially avoid further issues while finishing my Accutane treatment? I cannot find any answers on this aspect. Thank you in advance.
Im 24 and have been dealing with what I would consider mild acne since my mid teens. Ive just switched to a new dermatologist since my old one retired. Prior to this derm, Ive used differin, benzoyl peroxide, and duac spot treatment, which generally helped. I even did a stint on doxycycline. But when I turned 23 my acne came back and nothing works. This is the worst its ever been. Forehead, shoulders, even scalp and scalp line. Im just unsure if accutane is worth the risks?
Hello, Ive been on Accutane for over 5 months so far, I am currently over half way through my 6th month. The dosages were/are as follow: 40mg-80mg-80mg-80mg-120mg-120mg(currently). Ive also been on prednisone (20mgs) twice throughout my Accutane course, it was 3 pills for 5 days, 2 pills for 5 days, and finally one pill a day for 5 days during month 4/6. The prednisone basically cleared my acne both time, but it always comes back. I am a 19 year old male weighing around 185lbs at 64. Jawline/under chin and forehead acne mostly/back/chest/arms acne.
