I'm a 45 year old 75 KG male who was on Accutane last year. Started in March 2020 and got off in July 2020 per my dermatologists. Dose was 40mg month 1&2 then 60mg month 3&4. Only bad side effect was terrible dry eye. After checking the math I don't think I hit the Target Dose of 120mg. Fast forward 7 months later and my skin is breaking out again. Dermatologist wants me to go on round 2. I'm all for it. Given the time since my last course what cumulative dose do I need this time around?
Hi I was on accutane before and it cleared me up, but when i was finished it really dried up my eyes. They have gotten better and no longer look as red as befofe. I went on some steroid eye drop and it helped a lot. They do still feel like theyre burning sometimes... If i go back on accutane will it destroy my eyes :0 I have like no acne on my nose and none right below the eye area!
34/F on isotretinoin for 6 months, taking my last dose in Jan 2020. I understand the medicine shrinks your oil glands, but Ive read that the oil production returns to normal levels after you stop taking it. I was very oily before. It has been nearly two years and my skin is dull and dry. My hair is dull. Wearing contacts is uncomfortable. The skin under my eyes has tons of lines now. I take Zyrtec daily and take allergy shots - could this exacerbate the issue?
I have facial rosacea as well as ocular rosacea. My sebum production aggregates the rosacea on a daily basis. I would like to try Accutane as I think it would improve the old glands on my face. However, I am worried it will dry my eyes out more. Is it okay to take Accutane if I also have ocular rosacea?
I am a 45 yo female and just started taking acutane 8 days ago. I have very itchy eyes. Does this usually resolve after the course of medication? If it commonly becomes a chronic condition I want to stop acutane to minimize the likelihood that this will be something I live with in the future.
