Hi, I'm Dr. Dan Shapiro. I'm a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and I have been practicing cosmetic or aesthetic plastic surgery in Scottsdale Paradise Valley Area for over 22 years. Cellulaze is a treatment that I preform in the office, which is actually laser treatment of cellulite. It's really the only long-term treatment of cellulite and it is generally a one treatment type procedure.

Cellulite is a very tough problem and I think it bothers a lot of people and as with any cosmetic surgery procedure, people are always wondering what kind of scars are involved when Cellulaze or any treatment is preformed.

Literally very few, if any, sutures need to be placed when I preform Cellulaze. Cellulaze is preformed through very, very small incisions, generally two to three mm in length of varying positions, usually along the lateral thighs, beneath the rear end and occasionally in the buttock area. Through those incisions [inaudible 00:01:03] which is a local anesthetic that is placed and then the laser is a very small probe, generally about two to three mm in diameter that is placed through these incisions. The Cellulaze is preformed and as I said, really no sutures are placed.

In the long term, there is very little indication that I have preformed anything and the upside is that, you know, hopefully we see a beautiful result and we see you much more comfortable about the cellulite that has been bothering you for so long. Thank you.

Will Cellulaze Scar My Skin?

Many people who have problems with cellulite worry about the possibility of scarring if they have a Cellulaze procedure. Dr. Daniel Shapiro addresses this concern.
