I was attracted to dermatology during medical school. My family has a history of a skin disorder called psoriasis so when I was in medical school, I started doing research in that department. I became very well-acquainted, spent time in the clinic, and really fell in love with the field of dermatology. You get to use your eyes; it's a very visual field. And, one of my past times is doing art and I've been a painter for a long time and so, I was just attracted to that part of it, as well. There are a lot of similar themes between drawing and art and also translating that to beauty when people interpret what they think is an attractive face.
