A tummy tuck is a permanent change. It's the only way to make a loose tummy tight and flat. If you have this procedure done, you'll maintain the result indefinitely. It's a permanent change. If you sit on the couch eating ice cream and Doritos, then you can refill that area that was taken out and tightened but most patients are already watching what they eat and exercising so they are going to maintain their result indefinitely and have a tight flat tummy indefinitely. Well a tummy tuck is really more of a skin procedure than a fat procedure so a patient really has to have extra skin to remove a tummy tuck. If you take all the extra skin out and then you start producing fat underneath the skin, that's going to be more of a liposuction procedure than a tummy tuck procedure.
