Hi, I'm Dr. Song, and I'm here to talk about shaped breast implants and how they're different from the traditional round silicone gel implant. These are the so-called Gummy Bear implants. They're made with a high-strength cohesive silicone gel which allows them to maintain their anatomic shape and proportion of the natural breast. The main benefit to these implants is that they're going to maintain a natural shape and proportion of the breast. The other major difference is the texturing of the shell, which serves to hold the implant in place. Because this is a nice looking breast, and this is a funny looking breast.

I think the best candidate for this surgery is a woman 22 years of age or older who's looking for a modest augmentation and wishes to have the most natural appearing breast possible. There'll be a smooth, tapered upper [inaudible 00:00:44] breast and a nice, round convex lower portion of the breast. It'll avoid the roundness and fullness that are often a problem with round breast implants. Although recovery varies from patient to patient, typical recovery's pretty easy. Within two to three days, moms are able to pick up their kids and get back to their normal activities. Should be able to drive within two to three days as well.
