Woman: How should I prepare for eyelid surgery?

Dr. Prasad: Preparation for eyelid surgery is fairly straightforward. In order to minimize bleeding or bruising, we need to check if any medication or supplement you're taking has any blood thinning properties. If you have dry eyes, allergies, or any other ocular conditions, make sure you continue to use your medications as prescribed by your ophthalmologist. As far as preparation at home is concerned, make sure you have some ice in the refrigerator for cold compresses after the surgery. In my practice, I advise my patients to use the cold compresses for two days after surgery while at home, so make sure that you have everything you need to be comfortable at home so you don't have to go out to the store during this time.
