The thing I hear the most often from patients that come in concerned about a possible skin cancer is a lesion that developed and may have looked like a pimple and it was growing but then after two to three weeks it was still there and they started to wonder, "Why is this pimple not going away?" And I usually tell my patients that if there's something that's growing and it's there for about a month or longer, then it's probably not a pimple, it's probably not a spider bite, it's probably not one of these things that you think it is and it should be checked out.
