I'm Sheryl Clark. I'm a dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon. I work in the upper east side of Manhattan. If you're watching this film, I'm sure you already know a lot about CoolSculpting technique by Zeltiq. You know that it's used for localized fat reduction and you know that it gives reliable reproducible results in every patient. What you may not know is that there's a new applicator that's just been developed. As one of the early adapters, I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know what it is, why it works, and why you might be interested in learning more about it.

This is called the Cool Fit. It's a medium-sized applicator with a flat surface. It has larger plates than the old medium applicator and it has this flat surface that allows it to be applied to areas that never could be treated before. So, for example, we can now treat vertical columns of fat of the abdomen. We can treat upper arms. We can treat inner thighs. We can treat the area below the buttock on the back of the thigh. This has allowed us to expand our treatment options tremendously. Now I can tell you that there's something available to help you with those problem areas.

It has a larger surface area, so it treats 38% more fat than the old medium-sized applicator. It works otherwise just the same as all the other applicators have. It involves vacuum, taking the skin up into the device, and then the application of cold. The cold is delivered in a controlled fashion over an hour and that gets the cells to the point were they're almost freezing but not quite but injury occurs and then the individual cells will go away slowly via a process called apoptosis where they slowly die and never come back.

I just wanted to let you know that we had the new applicator out and that we can now treat your inner arms, we can treat your inner thighs, we can treat those little bulges behind your thighs just below your buttock and we can treat your abdomen if you're the kind of person who has fat that goes up and down instead of a cross.
