Dr. Farhan Taghizadeh: Hi. My name is Farhan Taghizadeh with New Mexico Facial Plastics. A question that were often asked is how much should rhinoplasty cost. I believe there are four factors that impact the cost of a rhinoplasty. The first is the cost of the surgical facility where the rhinoplasty is being done. The second is the cost of the anesthesia or sedation. Most people need some type of general anesthesia to have a rhinoplasty. The third is the type of rhinoplasty being performed. There are some rhinoplasties that take longer than other types of rhinoplasties and usually the longer types will include more cost. The final, most important factor of how much a rhinoplasty cost is the experience of the physician in doing nasal surgeries. In my experience having done hundreds of rhinoplasties, I really believe that the procedure of a rhinoplasty is an art and it takes one lots of experience and lots of years to really develop their craft of doing rhinoplasties. This experience is often reflected in the cost of the rhinoplasty. And you should have a very frank conversation with your physician in terms of the relative experience and the number of rhinoplasties that they do and their experience doing nasal surgeries. So in summary, there are four factors that impact the relative cost of a rhinoplasty. One is the surgery center, the surgical cost. Two is the cost of the anesthesia. Three is the type of rhinoplasty being done. And four, most importantly, the experience of the physician doing the procedure. Good luck with your rhinoplasty consult. Take care.
