Dr. David Reath: Hello, I'm Dr. David Reath. I'm a plastic surgeon in Knoxville, Tennessee, and with me is my nurse, my nurse injector, Jill. We are here to speak to a question, which is commonly asked through Real Self... about Botox, and when it takes effect.

Many people wanna know exactly when they can expect to see results after they've been injected with the Botox. Now I think the majority of the people may see the effect within 5 to 10 days, but there can be a broader experience with it. I thought I'd let Jill speak to that, as she's had a lot of experience injecting a lot of people with Botox.

Jill: Well if you're kinda new to Botox, you can see it kick in within 24 hours even. But if you've had Botox several times, or maybe for a few years, it could even take up to two weeks to show up. We can say 5 to 10 days would be a normal amount to see your Botox results.

Dr. David Reath: So... take that into consideration when you're considering getting the Botox. Particularly if you are planning to have it before an event, make sure you have it long enough in advance that it will take effect. And please let us know if you have other questions.
