Hello, this is Dr. Stephen Prendiville. One of the things that naturally concerns most patients that is considering a surgical procedure such as a facelift is down time. I'm going to give you a brief overview of a patient who actually went through the process and you can see for yourself what it's like. This is actually a 60-year-old woman who is basically coming to see me concerned about her mid-facial area, her jawline and her neck. She's considering having a facelift and decided to have one. Here she is at one week after the procedure. You can see that she has some swelling, some bruising. We actually did a little filler to her lips at the same time. A little bruising there. She's not in any pain or discomfort.

So then she comes in to see us at one month, and you can see that she is recovered, she's wearing makeup, she's able to go out in public and she feels good about the way she looks.

This gives you an overview of the process. The healing time is sometime between two weeks and a month for most patients, usually closer to two weeks. Hopefully this is helpful. Thanks.
