So I just had my first peel 4 days ago. It was a vi peel & Im prob just freakin out, but was wondering if its norm for the new skin to be red & super sensitive. Its to the point that even the cleaner & moisturizer burns. Im using the stuff from my derm office, so im not sure why this is happening. Even the vi sunscreen seems to burn my "new skin". Also, yesterday my lips started to burn a little & have been burning every since. Sorta feels like they are wind burned…is that normal too? Thanks
Had VI peel Thursday morning, 4 days ago. Yesterday and today, my face has been on fire and really sensitive to the post peel protectant. The instructions say to discontinue use of the post peel protectant if irritation occurs and try petroleum jelly. I have tried the vaseline but it has caused my face to breakout. Is cocoa butter or something else ok to use? I have mostly peeled already just the new skin is super sensitive to everything.
I am on day 4 - starting to peel a lot, I bought aquaphor but it was kind of burning me all day. Just want to know what I should be using - my kit didn't come with a moisturizer only the SPF and peel protectant. So mornings cleanse, and throughout the day Peel protectant and SPF? And aquaphor if needed?
I am a blonde with kinda fair skin and I'm on day 4 of my VI peel. I have been using my sunscreen and post peel cream but There are areas around my mouth and chin that has finished peeling and it has revealed skin underneath that is raw itchy and irritated in some spots. Are these areas where the peel went deeper than it should have, or could it be a possible infection? How can I safeguard myself from post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or an infection if this is the case?
Im 4 days post peel and am peeling in small sheets and flakes. Even though I followed the directions and am peeling, it occurred to me that using a wash cloth to wash my face, as I normally do and I like the thin NOT fluffy thick soft cloths, did I basically prematurely rub my skin off? I stopped using it at my last face washing. I dont see any additional dark spots, only what was there before. But is a wash cloth a problem?
I had a Vi peel done 4 days ago and started to notice significant swelling around my mouth area about 72 hours after the peel. The skin had already shed away and now my new skin underneath is all swollen to the point where I can't open my mouth. It's so swollen my skin is starting to crack. I tried the hydrocortisone cream and it has done nothing to help. Is this normal and how long should this last? Is this an allergy and if so could it be to the peel or the hydrocortisone cream?
