I was told to use Obagi cream (4% hq) while going through my 5-treatment series of Fraxel. The cream didn't seem to bother me, and may have helped keep away post-inflammatory pigmentation.

Olga, after the full 5 treatments, I'm really happy with the results. My age spots have lightened quite a bit, and I've had some tightening of my upper eyelids. It didn't start to become apparent until after my third treatment, so you might have to be patient.

You can't really predict your reaction after later treatments, because each one may have a different setting. My first four treatments were pretty mild -- in fact, I was back in public 48 hours later. I peeled most severely after treatments # 1 and 2. But I've just had my 5th, and I'm still really swollen 48 hours later. Because it's my last in the series, they went a little more superficially, to take care of my pigment issues, and the result is that I swelled up a lot more than before.

All my exfoliation happened quite naturally and was over in about a week. So I think any additional procedure to hurry it along wouldn't be necessary. I think all you'd need is normal washing twice a day, plus maybe a wipe with a cotton pad moistened with astringent or toner. That should be sufficient.
