tried, It was before (at least 5 times through the years) and after the bleph (about 4-5 months after for forehead)...at the time of the last injections, I still did not know the negative effects of botox, but was getting it mainly for the lines between my eyes and on my forehead.
Now that I think about it, it was probably about a year ago. If the long term effects of botos is aging, then that will certainly lead to more business for the derms and plastic surgeons. Clever. The area--muscles I guess--above my eyebrows definitely protruds and sags more, that has to be from the botox. I'm trying to get used to bangs but my hair doesn't want to go that way! I wrote a review about the bleph if you are thinking about it. But read all the reviews--not to scare yourselves but so that you know the possible outcomes. I found this site a few days after my bleph ro I might not have gotten it! But really it took away my bags. My eyes are deep set to begin with and still have a rounded area directly underneath them, but the PS managed not to hollow out the tear trough. He was very good, and I was very lucky. I'm doubting I'll have anything done again--it turns out great for some but horrible for others. It's taking a chance I'm not willing to take at this point! But the lower trans bleph is the least invasive eye surgery you can have--there seem to be a lot more complications with uppers. I just use dark brown eye shadow to try to minimize the extra skin up there.
Oh! I forgot to say--I can't remember how long it was between the last botox and the bleph==mind you I HAD NOT made the connection between the botox and the bags! It wasn't until researching recently that I realized that was the cause. I thought due to sun and smoking they had aged quickly and that I needed more botox. About 2 months after I did have more botox (unaware that it was ruing the shape of my face--sagging brows, cheeks etc. but instinctively knew not to have them go under my eyes. They went for the top line of my crow's feet--I am horrified now that I even took that risk! Never again for botox--I have some wicked frown lines, but I'm going to live with them.
Hi uncool, Long story but here goes: I know some of the change in my face shape is due to aging. The third time I got botos, I requested shots on the lines under my eyes. The dermatologist told me that it could cause temporary swelling under the eye. Let me say to that I always had very slight bags and some dark circles, and so does everyone in my family, so some is inherited. But I think the botox allowed the fat pads to herniate--something they would have done eventually anyways due to age. But lord they were awful, and no amount of makeup would cover them. They never went down to what they were (slight). I'm sure of the change because I got my mom's opinion! There were cross hatch wrinkles through the bags and they would bunch up when I smiled. My upper eyelids are also looser, more hooded, and I have wierd indentions in my forehead. As the botox wore off, I eneded up with loose skin and lines in my cheeks and around my mouth. My face is still saggy looking. I was not up for a whole facelift but couldn't stand the eyes, so I consulted a plastic surgeon. He suggested the procedure I eventually had (there is a review under blepheroplasty or CO2 laser). A lower trans bleph in when they go in from inside your lower lid and remove fat and then cauterize the area so it cannot return. There are no stiches and no change in the shape of your eye. I wanted a bit of a lift so my eyes would return to thier previous shape but the PS recommended agaist it. He also said that I would be left with loose skin, but because of my age I should have lser instead of cutting the skin off. So I had co2 laser under eyes too, most wrinkles gone, still some left but I hardly care. CO2 has a very long recovery time though. The op did not restore the shape of my face, although I swear it pulled the skin on my cheeks back up a little, but the under eye area looks great. I am so glad I had it done! I had a conservative PS who recommeneded against doing upper lids.
My face shape changed completely (but I had at least 6 treatments, all including the lower eye area). I finally had to get a transconjunctival bleph.
