It was a fairly new procedure when I had it performed in 2008 and my doctor was charging $2000-$2500 for full face and neck. I paid a discounted $1500 for full face and neck because I was a regular patient having had several other procedures previously AND I was one of her first patients having the CO2 procedure. The doctor did tell me at the time that if a touch up was necessary following the procedure, she would charge me approx $500 -$750 depending upon the area(s) requiring another pass. So, it sounds like with the exchange rate, the cost (without my discount) would be approximately the same. I hope that your swelling goes down and that you love the results, as I do. My face was extremely swollen following the procedure to the point that my eyes were tiny slits. I actually thought, "Holy heck! What have I done?!" It took several weeks to fully recover, but as I have said, it was worth it!

Hi Binni,
I had the SmartXide DOT CO2 Fractional. The website shows before/after pics that include the neck.

Hi! As discussed in my original and previous posts from 2008, I had my whole face and part of my neck done....which my doctor did not indicate that the procedure should not be performed on the neck. As I remember, it took a bit longer for my neck to "heal". Since my neck was burning so bad during the procedure, the doctor had me hold the hose/tube so that cold air could blow on it. I didn't realize that resting the hose/tube on my neck for so long would cause it to burn (freeze)....i believe similar to frostbite. This area went from red and swollen to purple and then finally brown (which i was REALLY upset about). On a follow-up visit, the doctor gave me some fade cream to put on the area daily and it eventually faded. Someone previously asked about the success of the procedure removing brown spots....the procedure DID remove the spots (sunspots), fine lines and wrinkles and the slight skin imperfections that I had from a car accident. It also removed the brown melasma areas that I have on both sides of my face...but please note that this was only temporary. As soon as any time is spent in the sun, these areas will come back. My dermatologist has told me that melasma can only be removed with a fading/bleaching cream. The doctor that performed my fraxels (I had more than one) and then later the SmartXide DOT, always said that these laser treatments would get rid of melasma, too. They do, but temporarily. I just wanted to post an update since several years have gone by since my procedure. I'm still LOVING the results....for me, it was soooo worth it. I just had my 43rd birthday and had been a social smoker for many years. I was starting to see the effects of the bad habit around my lips. My skin still looks great and I can tell a BIG difference in my skin versus others' when looking at girls' night pictures. I'm torn as to whether or not to tell them my secret! haha I get compliments all of the time on my skin...which is something I NEVER had prior to the procedure. I know the end results are different for everyone...and that everyone's pain tolerance is different, but the expense and pain were worth it.

Hello Folks! Wanted to give an update on my treatment: my skin is DEFINITELY improved! There is still a slight, brown pigment area in front of each ear but other than that, the brown, sun damage areas are gone (on cheeks, forehead, etc). The doctor suggested possible follow-up, spot treatment on the areas in front of my ears - we are going to wait to see if they lighten more (she also gave me some skin-lightening cream to use). My face also had red, splotchy areas that are now also gone along with the areas of scarring from a car accident (glass in face/neck). The area on my neck that was not numbed prior to the procedure is STILL red and looks "scratched", but it looks better each day. My skin is noticeably tighter on my face and neck, but i did notice the "stretched" skin areas on my eyelids that Allison mentioned - looking forward to that tightening up! I would definitely do it again, but would make sure that all areas to be treated were numbed first - this was the only area (neck) that was excrutiatingly painful and still healing today. The area of my neck that WAS numbed prior to procedure did take a couple more days to heal :)

Dr. Gregory in Norman, Oklahoma, performed my procedure and several others that i have had. I followed up with her yesterday and she provided me with an add'l cream to put on my neck which really helped the pain and healing process. My face has pretty much lost all of the brown "crusty" and is just pink w/a few areas of red blotches. My husband (who doesn't normally comment on these things..lol) stated that he could tell a HUGE difference in my skin's appearance - tighter, smoother, etc. It was explained to me by my doc that my procedure was more aggressive to combat the areas of improvement I desired - which may also require a couple more days of "social" downtime. I follow up with the doctor again on Monday.
