The main thing is you need someone to help out at least for the first 4 days to a week...husband, friend, relative, whichever. It only matters if your husband is home because he is the only one that can help. My husband was home, but I still had a very good friend take care of me because I knew she'd be much better at it. My husband loves my results, but at the time not 100% happy with my choice so I realized he would not be sympathetic to any pain I had :)

if your open wound is in the center of your incision, this can happen. it can be very tough for the blood to flow to that part of the body after it's been cut. Everyone is different. I had about an inch area that was very stubborn to heal. My doctor actually re-cut that area and stitched it again after the other areas healed and then it just healed normally. likely because the nerves and blood vessels had finally reconnected.
I'm certainly not a doctor, but at 5 weeks it was ok for me to do moderate pace walking. By 6 weeks I was allowed to lift light hand weights (5lbs)...by 8 weeks I started back to cycling and low impact cardio. By 9 weeks I was back to Kickboxing and pilates. Pilates and pushups were the hardest to do for awhile, but I gained my ab strength back after a few more weeks. Keep in mind, if you push yourself too hard, too early, you risk additional swelling, more bruising, and maybe even issues with your scars. So I know it's frustrating, but do moderate activity and LISTEN to your body. good luck!!
Since you still have a scab on your belly button, it's really hard to say how it will look. It really takes months for your tummy lose its swelling and see what your BB will look like. I know it's so hard to hear that it will take months or a year for the final results, but each week you'll see improvement. in about 6 weeks you will see major improvement...and you'll be so surprised 6 months from now when you see yet more changes. I am 8 months post op and am so happy...it's like this new tummy has always been mine! Hang in there and give it time. Take pics each week so you can really see the changes! Take care!
Happy, I'd love to see your pics, too. I had my FTT and BA back in April. I, too, am loving my results. I'm intrigued about the tatoo idea...sounds like a great idea! do you have the pics posted somewhere here, I'm not seeing them?
