Unusual for an eye to appear higher after a facelift unless there was also a brow lift incorporated or the eyes were done? Many patients have a pre-existing eyelid asymetry which may become more evident after a facelift. However, if the difference is really in brow position, it can often be adjusted by simply having someone even out the brows by a combination of plucking and pencil.

You should get better quickly, especially if you ice during the first three days. We also will have the patient apply some cortisone ointment to the lips before they sleep. We always ice after injection of the lip which tends to keep down the swelling. Dr. Mayl

With every passing month a new laser comes onto the market. It is now impossible to keep up with each development. Our policy has become that we will not bring a new laser into our practice unless the company allows us to use it for free for enough time to treat friends so that we quickly acquire an experience. We did not do this with the Fraxel and that turned out to be the worst investment we ever made. We found it painful, not very effective unless we did many treatments, etc. It now has been sold for a fraction of what we paid. The Mixto has been an entirely diffent esperience.

Firstly, you can assume the FDA clearance is usually more about safety than about effectiveness when it comes to lasers. Secondly, a "horrible result" needs to be better defined. Was it lack of effectiveness,pigmentation, etc.? Unfortunately results claimed are more a question of ethics rather than legality.

The reaction you are having can be due to many things. These include blockage of your pores created by a dense ointment, allergy, and infection. Starting with an antibiotic ointment is appropriate, but you should see your treating doctor to establish the diagnosis. These usually clear rapidly and do not affect the final result.
