It will be fine!!!!! I just finished my treatment and have been on the retainer for two months now (which I still wear 24/7). I had a mouth full of buttons. In the beginning, I had to use dental wax because of the way my teeth were the trays wouldn't lie flat over two of the teeth and I was cutting my gums. The first week I almost gave up. I also had spaces made between teeth. All I can tell you is that it was so worth it in my opinion. My teeth are so much better, my bite is better and I smile all the time. Give it a couple of weeks, another tray or two. You will get so used to it that it won't bother you anymore. The time goes by really fast too. You'll be so surprised when it's over.
I don't understand why your doctor will not give you all of your trays. You paid for them. Find yourself an invisalign dentist or orthodontist where you moved and just pay for office visits. You should be almost finished by now. Demand the rest of your trays and your retainer. They have no right to keep them from you.
Don't worry, by day 3 it won't be painful anymore, and not all trays give you that problem. I had 28 trays. A few of them were worse than others and it hurt to take them out for the first 2 days of the aligners. I had 8 buttons. By day 3 they didn't hurt anymore and by day 5 they were a piece of cake. Out of 28 trays I had maybe 5 that were like that, painful.
Tomorrow will be week three. The left ptosis is no worse and no better. The doc gave me shot to weaken the muscles by the eyebrow to lift it (whatever he said, but it's to help life the eyebrow). It's not terrible, I can live with this for a few months. The doc told me I should never have Botox again, he did not give me a lot and he thinks I am too sensitive to Botox. I wasn't planning on doing it again. It was respectable for the doc to tell me no more, not again.
They have to make spaces between some teeth for some people, it's as if the enamel is being shaved. I had it done a few times. I had my treatment for 13 months, I was vigilant about wearing my trays for the recommended time. Occasionally I had an occasion where I had them out for about four hours, but I can count on what hand that I did that. My teeth really shifted appropriately during the estimated time. I have one tooth that looks slightly crooked, but only because my teeth are a little funny shaped (some are pointy) so there is a spot where my bottom tooth fits in with my top. It sounds weird but it's not. I didn't need any revisions. I also wear my retainer now (six weeks so far) just like my regular invisalign. I will do this for the recommended 6 months and then switch to nighttime only if my teeth really don't start shifting. My speech was awful in the beginning. I slurred and lisped. Once I got used to the trays, that stopped. I did spit on people a few times in the beginning. I had a mouth full of buttons. 99% of people didn't notice my invisaligns unless I showed them. I of course noticed them because I knew they were there. As for drinking, I went out and had some drinks with my trays in. No wine, but beer. I just rinsed my trays every time I went to the bathroom and made sure to brush really well that night and soak the trays. I do agree with the statement about if you expect perfection then this might not be right for you. My provider never promised perfection but promised a big improvement and that's exactly what I got. I am thrilled, but I had realistic expectations. My bite is better, my teeth are better and I smile all the time. My whole face appears to have changed for the better. My smile got wider and my face looks thinner. If you don't want to be bothered with a retainer for the rest of your life, then braces in general won't be right for anyone.
