Personal hate-mail aside, I did have a good doctor, a complete recovery and good results. I am not affiliated with LSL or the medical profession in any manner.

There are no wires involved with Lifestyle Lift. This is a procedure known as Contour Thread Lift or the Diamond Wire (and other names). One year in I am totally satisfied with the eye lift and "jowl" lift I got from Lifestyle Lift. Down time is greater: it took about 5 months for all of the swelling to go down, the bruising took one month to go away. They can do the procedure in less than an hour on your lunch break - but don't plan on a public appearance for a good 2 months.

Make sure the surgeon has done many of these procedures successfully. Check his/her credentials and private practice for levels of complaints, successes, and people who will vouch for his/her work. It isn't the procedure that is inherently flawed (and it isn't a face lift - not near that dramatic, wherein lies the beauty of it), it is the skill of the surgeon. You must check and double check this independently of the LSL consultant's assertions. If the surgeon is well-recommended and you have reasonable expectations, saw good results on other patients and your wife knows her own physical healing processes, you can expect non-dramatic "freshened up" results. I also got an eye lift. I was bruised for a good 8 weeks with swelling, but the results have people asking me if I have lost weight and telling me I look great. My husband is very pleased with the results. He thought it might make me look "artificial" like some cosmetic surgeries do, but that isn't the case. Six months later, I am very pleased with the results. My surgeon has his own practice outside of LSL in West Palm Beach, FL.

Ask to see other people who have had work done by this particular doctor who is doing your procedure. Make sure the doc is good, then proceed. I had mine done in January and I love the results - scarrring doesn't show up unless I am looking in a 7X magnifying mirror and then I can barely see a thin,light line in the crease of the lid. Be prepared: You will look very "scary" for the first week, and swollen thereafter - but faces heal quickly. Makeup conceals bruising somewhat, but plan for 4 weeks before big social events - this based on my experience. You may heal faster. Elevate your head and use lots of ice packs. You will love the results if the doctor is good.

For every single repeated horror story about LSL, there are thousands of us that had good doctors and a positive outcome. Choose your doctor wisely, understand the procedure clearly, & be an informed patient. Of course there is going to be cauterization, it stops bleeding in ALL surgery. You will have numbness and bruising. It looked beautiful 2 months out with residual numbness. Five months out, my face was completely healed & the residual numbnes gone from an eye & chin procedure.
