Posted to Smile Deformed After Botox on 1 Jan 2010
I had it in my chin near the mouth corners. Meant to stop the mouth corners from turning downwards but went to the wrong muscles and emphasised the drawing down of the corners of the mouth. I now have more saggy skin around my mouth.I am quite angry as never got an apology or anything, they just treat you like you are mad. Anyway, I had the botox 10 weeks ago and really it still hasn't come back at all. Getting worried now.
Well, I think that would be a funny coincidence if it was bells palsy, considering you just had the botox on that left side and then it happened. I just think that sometimes the doctors dont want to take responsibility for it. I look worse than ever at the moment. Still no sign of my muscle coming back. On top of that, the filler has migrated making the situation a lot worse. I think I may need it dissolved. At the moment I feel like I am living in hell. I had the botox in my chin but I have had it for the crows feet with no problems in the past. I do know that the muscle which controls the upper lip is near where crows feet are injected and so it is very possible that the botox has caused your problems. Good luck, hope you problems solve soon.
I appreciate what you are saying but I did go to a doctor who I have been to before with no problems. Now, I am too scared to ever have anything done again. My life is on hold. I know people are worse off but that doesn't help. I wish I had never been so vain. It has been nearly six weeks and no sign of the botox wearing off. I just want to be able to smile properly again and get rid of the loose skin. I went to see someone else and they told me that the doctor went too medially and that is why I can't smile, and it is not my upper lip that is paralysed but that it is my upper lip that is compensating. Now I have a deep groove at the side of my mouth, I look awful. Just in time for Christmas, great.
Well, it has been 4 weeks now and still no change, in fact I look worse. This is killing me. I have been working but people keep giving me funny looks and asking if I am ok. Both cheeks are saggy but one corner of my mouth is worse still. My upper lip wont smile and i can't lift up the corners of my mouth. I feel like I am in a living hell and don't want to see people. I have more wrinkles where my upper lip won't work. I don't ever see my face going back to normal. I would do anything to go back. The doctor said it had never happened before, well why did it have to happen to me? How are you? Have you gone back to normal yet? I told my mum what I did and she said that it isn't noticeable but I know my own face and I think she just wants to make me feel better.
I am very pleased for you and hope it gives you more confidence. I'm only 27 but my face is so terrible. I need a corner mouth lift. What are the scars like for this?
