Have you ever considered a combo of IPL (Intense pulsed light) and Pixel Laser treatment? Initially, the IPL will darken the spots, but then after a few treatments they begin to fade away. The Pixel Laser is fractionalized Er-YAG laser, so it doesn't take off the entire top layer of skin, but rather makes tiny pin-hole wounds that heal quickly, and you will exfoliate some without the added hyper-pigmentation of the chemical peel. The two treatments can be done at one visit, and I would recommend a few treatments to get rid of the brown spots. You will have a few days of red-golden, then dry, then flaking skin, but within about 7 days you'll have much improved, tighter, less blotchy, skin...Just keep out of the sun afterward!

Hi There! First of all, it is normal for the treated area to leak serum, (mostly clear, straw-colored fluid), a few days after the application of the peeling agent, but there shouldn't be any blood unless you haven't kept a good, thick layer of ointment on the treated areas and they are cracking because they're getting dried out. I had a medium depth peel a few years back, was super red, (and yes, very worn out after the ordeal), days 2-3 leaked serum and skin turning brownish, feeling tighter by the day, days 4-5 noticed the skin in dynamic areas (areas with lots of motion) like corners of mouth and nasolabial folds began to flake a bit, days 6-10 more peeling and flaking of the remaining "brown" areas. RESIST the urge to pick and help the peeling skin off - this will only lead to scarring. Be sure to drink PLENTY of water and if you live in a dry climate, consider putting a humidifier in your room. Keep treated areas moist by using the recommended ointment. Hope you have a great result!!

Hi Tracy! The original Pixel uses fractionalized erbium laser, and Pixel perfect uses fractionalized CO2 laser, (according to the brochures and info I've read). I did have some of the original treatments done and liked the result, but I am told that the Pixel Perfect ones are even better because of the different laser type and they do penetrate a little deeper, which yields greater correction. I am being treated on the 15th, so I'll be sure to post how I think the two types compare. They can treat the eyelids if you are willing to wear a protective contact lens, (I'm a little weirded out by that thought, but the desire to tighten the eyelid skin out-weighs being freaked out over contact lenses for a few minutes)...I'm excited but also a little nervous...More after the tx!!

Did you ladies have the original Pixel treatment or Pixel Perfect done? I have had a few of the original Pixel treatments done, but I am now signed up for the new Pixel Perfect in a few weeks, and I have heard that it's more intense. Did you both have eyelids and neck done as well as face? How many days until you felt "presentable" again? Thanks for your reply!
