@sjgirl...I did not have any "drugs" for my procedure. I was awake the whole time. I wasn't that anxious or nervous about the procedure, so I was okay while it was being done. But since you are an "anxious person" ask the doctor for his opinion.

@danni2010...I know. The $850 cost was quite surprising...but awesome! I'm pretty sure that price has gone up much more since then. BTW, this is the only website where I've discussed any of my procedures. Thank you.

@Oneba...Thank you. Thinking back, I really don't think massaging the nose area would have helped in the swelling. I did use an ice pack for a while though. The first 10 days were the worst because of the stitches. Once they came off, I felt better talking to people. But I was still swollen and I noticed people stare at my face a bit. Not even makeup (foundation) helpd, at that time, in disguising the redness. Everyone is different in their recovery. I felt I could talk to people after 3 weeeks, but I personally could tell my face was "swollen" for 5-6 months after the procedure. And an FYI, I still do not have a "toothy" smile. I do not show teeth when I smile. If you'd like, I can send you some more of my "after" photos via personal email. Can I ask why you are getting this procedure done?

@cleo...Thank you. I only had skin removed (not muscle). Not too much skin was removed either so I don't really have a "toothy" smile. My procedure was done over 5 years ago...there was practically ZERO information online on this procedure. I went in and trusted my Doctor. I am happy with the results. But as stated by myself and many people on here, the recovery will take many months and the lip corners will slightly droop over time (since only the middle part of your lip is lifted. Good luck.
