I'm glad to see the distributors on this site are taking extra precautions before demonstrating the Galvanic Spa on their customers. Allergic reactions to the products, or skin sensitivity after using the device are pretty easy to access. Underlying conditions caused by the actual electrical current are not so easy, but can be more serious. Lozza... you are the first person I've heard of that actual researched your customer's possible reaction to the electrical current, and I applaud you for taking the steps necessary to reduce the risk of injury. I know Nuskin has an check list of questions to ask women before demonstrating the Galvanic Spa, but now that you all know there have been unforeseeable problems with the device, you should all question your customers thoroughly before performing a facial. In my case, it only took 5 seconds on my left temple to set off an electrical charge in my head (read my previous posts for the full story). For some patients, the reaction has been more subtle (i.e. headaches), and even a personal physician won't think to ask "have you been using any electrical device on your face recently?" With the release of the larger Galvanic Spa to use on cellulite, it's even more important to question your customers about hip and knee replacements, or other metal pins or plates they have in their body.
Does the Nuskin Galvanic Spa work? Yes! Are there risks involved? Yes. Screen your potential customers before performing a demonstration, and report any negative reactions to Nuskin immediately. Demand answers from Nuskin customer service, and don't assume every reaction is an allergic reaction. Judy

Glenda, at the time I used the Galvanic Spa, I had three crowns on the left side of my mouth, but also had a couple of crowns on the right. I had been conducting a "test" for three weeks before deciding to become a distributor. I performed the facial on the right side about 5 times, several days apart, with good results and no adverse reactions. The first time I performed the facial on the left side, I felt "electrical shocks" every time I used it on the left temple area. At first I thought the area was too dry, so I applied more gel. I was shocked again, and immediately discontinued use. Over the next few hours, I felt what seemed to be electrical charges traveling over the top and left side of my scalp. I felt a "numbness" over the left side of my face (sort of like novocaine wearing off after a dental procedure. My left eye lid felt as though I was getting a stye on it. The symptoms continued through the night, and off and on for the next few weeks. All this happened in March of 2008, and most of the symptoms have subsided. Only noticeable now if my face is unusually hot or cold, or if I'm overly tired.
I reported this to Nuskin the day after it happened, and they have a report confirming it. When they say they have NEVER heard of anyone getting electrical shocks from the Galvanic Spa, they are not being honest with consumers. My previous mention earlier this evening about the mother whose daughter experienced severe head pain should be a wake-up call for anyone who plans on selling the Galvanic Spa. If one of your own customers had a severe reaction to the product, would Nuskin be completely honest with you about others who may have had a similar adverse reaction? From my experience, I don't think they would.
If you'd like any more information about other women I've spoken with, I can send you my e-mail address.
Good Luck! Judy

Dennis, as a distributor, I wouldn't expect you to believe there's anything wrong with the Galvanic Spa. Obviously, if there were more women who experienced negative reactions, the product would have been taken off the market. That's just not the case. I didn't make up what happened to me; in fact, my husband and I were planning on selling the Galvanic Spa until I experienced adverse reactions. I wish I could use the device, because I know it works! All I'm saying is you're going to find some people who are sensitive to the current, or have an undiagnosed condition that could be worsened by it. After my own experience using the Nuskin Galvanic Spa, there is no way I would ever in good conscience sell the product to someone else. Judy

Nuskin's 800 number can be found in the instruction manual for the Galvanic Spa.

Seems like a lot of people have jumped on the bandwagon since I first reported adverse reactions when I used the Galvanic Spa in 2008. Not sure how many are legitimate, but if you want to read about my personal experience, click on my name and read my past posts. Or Google "Galvanic Spa Revolution Health" to read the dialogue I had with "loveredrose." Her daughter had a severe reaction, not from the gels, but clearly from the electrical current used in Nuskin's device. While I revealed very little information in my first inquiry on Revolution Health, the mother reported all of her daughter's reactions, albeit in broken English. I stopped using the device immediately after having shooting electrical pain, and have not used it since. This girl continued to use the Galvanic Spa for 10 minutes while enduring head pain. Nuskin's advice to the mother was to take her to the emergency room, because she was apparently "allergic" to the gels. An allergic reaction doesn't cause that type of pain!
If you are reading this, and are selling the Nuskin Galvanic Spa to women you know nothing about, I urge you to call Nuskin and get some answers about the potential of electric shock. It's a very real problem, and the company has received enough complaints about it to make it a top priority. If a woman, such as myself, can receive that kind of negative reaction without having any contraindications, then there are undoubtedly other's who have had the same (or worse) reactions without reporting it. Make Nuskin accountable! They are making a fortune on a product that is potentially harming women!
